THE STORY OF ROCKIN' 4 ROCKTON
In its 3rd year, Rockin’ 4 Rockton is one of the area’s great summer festivals.
R4R is a youth founded music and arts festival that benefits the development of local arts and athletics. Hononegah HS Alumn, Travis Cazel, had an idea that young people should have a place to share their art. In a partnership with the City of Rockton, his dream was realized, and R4R was born. Here, local young artists are able to gain playing experience on a big stage. Something most young bands never get to do. By supplying this venue, these artists realize their community is behind them, and their music is worth being heard. Every penny earned is donated to the the development of the Rockton Athletic Fields. These fields are currently housing baseball games and practices for Stateline Youth Athletics, as well as practices for football programs and cheer-leading squads. There has been a huge demand lately to finish these fields, so the experience is better, and the reach is greater. As they sit now, there is little they can do to sustain area athletic organizations. The sooner these fields are fully functional, the better the community will be. We feel that there hasn’t been enough focus on funding the project. So we’re doing something about it.The 2012 event will be even bigger than 2011 with more support, new bands, more things to do, and hopefully, YOU!!!
WE DON’T JUST PLAY WE ROCK
